Well, in my opinion, Modo is the best modeler ever. If you like Wings3D, I bet you will love Modo. It also have a great render engine. Take a look, you will not be sorry. www.luxology.com

Yes, blender is a pain... but a good solution on Linux when you make models with Wings3D and use yafray as render engine.

Look at this: orange.blender.org, free open movie. You can download it for free... also everything used for making it...

I like Cinema4D, have a good GI renderer (also Truespace). Is an alternative to Maya I think but easy to work with...

Maya is for me as Blender for you :), hard to wotk with it. You will understand when you will start modeling in Modo!

love 3d,
i use for most things cinema4d,
Wings3d and lightwave are awesome apps,
the down side with lw3d modeler / render not in same app :)

blender OMG please no lol,
Modo ?? i never used it.

i love maya aswell, very powerful app.

What program you used for 3D modeling? My favourite is Lightwave3D but also Modo, Wings3D, Blender.
